For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up. I have always loved animals - which was the main driving force for wanting to become a vet; but as I got older, my interests in science, medicine, and surgery my really solidified that this would be the perfect career choice for me!
I graduated from Mount Allison University in 2017 with my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI and graduated with my DVM in 2024.
I am originally from Miramichi, and knew I wanted to return home to work and settle down after I finished vet school. Waterview Animal Hospital is where my family brought our pets growing up, and I worked here for 2 summers during vet school - making it an easy decision (and a full circle moment) to be able to return and work here as a vet.
My main interests in veterinary medicine include client communication, surgery and spectrum of care. Shelter medicine also holds a special place in my heart. In all honesty, I love every aspect of vet med; helping an animal feel better after illness/injury is my favourite part of this job. A close second is helping owners feel less overwhelmed/anxious about their pet's health care needs.
Fun fact about me: I have 5 pets of my own - 2 dogs and 3 cats, who all went through vet school with me! I also hope to someday have a hobby farm with some horses, goats, chickens and alpacas!
